EXCELLENT Based on 34 reviews Carlo Negri5 March 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I first met Simon on a workshop as I had previously come up short on a 100 miler I'd attempted a few months before. By the end of the day, just the little tweaks that he suggested, made the world of difference. Following the half day workshop I decided to sign up for some 121 sessions as there is only so much that could be done in the half day. On the sessions he analyzed my technique using video recording and played it back so he could explain what could be changed to make me more efficient. He also devised a plan that I could follow for the next few months before my next event. The plan was tailor made to my strengths and weaknesses. For instance, he noticed my left hip dropped a little on my gait and included exercises to balance that out. Something I would have never of known without this input. Si was always there to answer questions about the plan, and give some encouragement if needed. Currently signed up again for my next event. Simon is a phenomenal athlete and coach who has podiumed some very tough high end ultra marathons. His bubbly upbeat attitude and vast knowledge of running transformed my running and it’s never been the same since, I’m much faster for less effort and I’m not picking up niggles and injury’s that are associated with bad form. I100% cannot recommend this guy enough. Thanks Si 🤜🤛 Amy Pedder10 February 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can't thank Simon enough for his dedication and expertise. From the start, he took the time to understand my unique needs and developed a personalized plan to address my running issues. What sets him apart is his passion for running and his genuine investment in my progress—something incredibly rare to find in a coach. Simon’s guidance has been easy to follow, without overwhelming me with jargon or technical details. His deep knowledge and tailored advice have helped me improve my pace, enjoy running, and run injury-free, especially after struggling with calf issues and achilles tendinitis for years. When I first met Simon, my goal was simply to correct my technique—specifically my forefoot strike, which had caused me multiple injuries. Simon used video recordings to assess my stride from multiple angles, both on the treadmill and outside, pinpointing areas where I could make effective adjustments. His skillful analysis and precise recommendations allowed me to run more efficiently and with less risk of injury. Thanks to his coaching, I managed to completed the London Marathon last year with a personal best, and the best part? I’m was not stiff or sore the day after (and I am still running injury free) —something I never thought would be possible. Simon didn’t just help me improve my running technique; he changed my perspective on running. What once felt like a necessary evil for triathlons is now something I love doing. I’m now running longer distances confidently, injury-free, and contemplating ultra distance next. If you're looking for a coach who is truly invested in your growth, Simon is exceptional. His tailored approach and deep understanding of biomechanics have made a huge difference for me and I am forever grateful for how he has transformed my running. Simon is an excellent running coach! His initial technique assessment and running technique coaching were incredibly helpful in teaching me how to run with proper form. He also created a personalised training plan that combined mobility, strength, and technique exercises to enhance my running. Thanks to Simon, I've developed a real passion for running and can now join my husband on longer runs. I recently set myself a goal of getting into ultra running and I was recommended Si through a friend who assured me Si was the best person to help me reach my goal. I started working with Si at the end of July and within 3 months, I ran my first 50km race without ever having run properly before! We met multiple times to improve my running form and through following his training plan, I have been running injury free and able to achieve my goals which never would've been possible without him. He is very kind, patient, knowledgeable and has so much passion for running. As a women, I have also really appreciated him being respectful and conscious of my needs which may impact my training. I am excited to continue working with Si and to see what his coaching will allow me to achieve! Mike Robinson4 October 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I wanted a running coach to help me with my technique and help me with my first marathon. My form has improved dramatically and I'm the fittest I've ever been. My original goal was sub 4hrs and I exceeded my wildest expectations with a 3:37!!! Simon's expertise and passion is infectious. He calmed me down when needed and encouraged me all the way. I'm someone who always has to understand the why and Simon always took the time to explain things which really helped. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. I found Simon by searching "running coach Oxford" on Google in early 2023, a few months before taking on the 3 Peaks Yacht Race (a mountain trail running, cycling, and sailing race) in June that year. We have been working with each other ever since (so just over a year). I had not given myself time to interview many running coaches in 2023, but Simon stood out as enthusiastic and knowledgeable so I took the punt. Since Simon and I started working together, my running has gone from strength to strength as I completed the 3 Peaks Yacht Race (90k over 4 days), my first Ultra (a 50k out of Bakewell), the OMM (short score), and most recently MIUT 85 (a savage 85k mountain ultra with 5,000m of elevation on the island of Madeira). Simon has continued to develop as a coach since I have known him and as our relationship has developed he has been able to tailor his methods to my personality (inquisitive, data driven, and detail oriented). That has meant sharing the detail of my long-range training plan, and talking me through the "why", and helping me feel mentally as well as physically prepared and engaged. I won’t rehearse the details of my long range plan of training for MIUT 85, but it incorporated all the usual stuff that you would expect: a long build of my aerobic base, intervals, hill repeats (lots of those required in Oxford), and strength work (don’t skip it!). I strongly believe that having a coach enabled me to achieve this goal. Simon always helped me balance running with the rest of my life, he tweaked my plan based on feedback from my physio, and always listened to my feedback. Immediately before the race, Simon took the time to talk me through race strategy and give me race-day tips. In fact, Simon was so inspired by MIUT that he joined us in Madeira for the MIUT 115 (coming 144th of 959). Thanks Simon!
